On the motorway the maximum speed limit is 130 kilometres an hour.
Newly-qualified drivers are not allowed to exceed 100 kilometres an hour.
If there is driving rain or snow, the speed limit goes down to 110 kilometres an hour, and when there is fog, up to 50 kilometres an hour.
Any variations are indicated on the road signs.
There is no minimum speed limit, but drivers should proceed fairly quickly to keep traffic moving and to prevent forcing other vehicles into dangerous overtaking manoeuvres.
